Auditions for   "Young Stormalong and the Mermaids"

The auditions for "Young Stormalong and the Mermaids", a pantomime in the British style, will held at  2.00pm - 4.00pm Saturday September, 13th 2008 & 2.00-4.00pm Sunday, September 14th at the Longwood Performing Arts Studios, 633 West Cypress Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

Cold readings from the script and please prepare a few bars from an unaccompanied song. Each auditioner was asked to sing. To arrange a specific day and time e-mail garys@vet.upenn.edu or call 610 444 3129. KATS is a society for adults (16 years or older). We are pleased to accept children as apprentices but they are very unlikely to get speaking roles. Even if you are 16 years or older, if this is your first audition, for KATS you will almost always be be put in the chorus no matter how much experience you have had. This is not favoritism...it is policy. Also, juniors and seniors in high school - please think very carefully before auditioning...these are busy years for you. It is in no one's interest if you can't mange all the demands placed upon you. Rehearsals will begin in early October (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7.30pm-9.00pm; and Sundays 2.00pm - 4.00pm). Rehearsals will continue until January with breaks for Thanksgiving and the Christmas and New Year Holidays.

Remember, we are always interested in hearing from volunteers who would like to help with all the back stage, front of house and administrative stuff that is essential to keep KATS going. Please come to the auditions to sign up as a member of our crew and admin staff.
